The Cross Over: Moving to Community Engaged Research

How scholars become community-engaged researchers, including the development of the necessary skills and behaviors, is typically absent or cursorily covered in graduate program coursework and in the scholarly literature. In this workshop, experienced community-engaged researchers will unpack and synthesize the common elements of their scholarly journeys that enabled them to shift their scholarly stance and research practices, and provide practical steps on how to make the move towards pursuing an active community engaged research agenda.
