Reflection is the engine of community-engaged learning, yet it is often the most challenging component to design and assess. In this workshop, we will shift from reflection as a post-experience task to reflection as a core pedagogical strategy. We will explore frameworks for scaffolding prompts that help students connect their site-based experiences to disciplinary theory and systemic social issues. Participants will leave with a toolkit of high-impact prompts and actionable rubrics that make assessing critical thinking transparent, rigorous, and directly aligned with your course learning objectives.
