Beyond "Do No Harm": Building Ethical Community Research Partnerships

In this workshop, faculty and students will explore how to approach institutional requirements—specifically, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) - with plans to do community engaged research. Beyond basic compliance with IRB, the session dives into the concept of "ethical sensibility," expanding the traditional mandate of "doing no harm" into an active practice. Researchers will leave with practical frameworks for conducting rigorous research that centers the dignity, respect, and agency of community partners.
