Since 2013, the University of Minnesota President's Community-Engaged Scholar Award has recognized exemplary engaged scholarship that embodies the University's definition of public engagement.

On Friday, October 9, 2015 President Eric Kaler, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Karen Hanson, Associate Vice Provost for Public Engagement Andrew Furco and past award recipients Michele Allen (2014) and Kathleen Call (2015) gathered to mark the installation of the award's Scholars Walk monument.

The momument is located on the north side of the walk between Walnut and Harvard streets S.E. near the McNamara Alumni Center.
