The Issue Area Networks (IAN) are designed to strengthen the alignment of the University's community-engaged activities around societal issues, activities which are currently operating independently across various offices, units, and departments. With more than 200 units that conduct community-engaged work across a broad range of topics, the University has an opportunity to play a major leadership role in making substantial and significant impacts on important societal issues through collaborative and collective action.
The initiative aims to build a more unified, systems approach to University-community engagement by networking existing engaged research, teaching, and public service efforts on key societal issues.
