The Service-Learning Fellows Program, run by The Center for Community-Engaged Learning (CCEL), in collaboration with the Office for Public Engagement, aims to expand the number and quality of community-engaged learning courses on the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. Funded by the Office for Public Engagement, the program provides support to faculty to utilize community-engaged learning through the development of new courses or through revisions of existing courses. In alignment with the University's Twin Cities campus Strategic Plan, the program also offers opportunities for faculty to explore grand challenges in collaboration with community partners.
In addition to facilitating the development of community-engaged learning courses, Service-Learning Fellows further institutionalize community-engaged learning by:
● Developing a plan for sharing their learning from the program with their department, division or unit;
● Exploring innovative community-engaged learning strategies that best meet the variety of learning needs of diverse students; and
● Contributing their course syllabus to CCEL’s syllabi collection to be available to other instructors.
