The Office for Public Engagement (OPE) invites staff, faculty, students and community partners to participate in the Through an Engaged Lens Book Club, a new series of brown bag conversations exploring books from a publicly-engaged viewpoint. This year's series will focus on authors featured in the University of Minnesota Provost's Conversation Series.
This year's book club dates are:
- Friday, December 16—How Does it Feel to be a Problem? Being Young and Arab in America by Moustafe Bayoumi
- Friday, February 10—The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez
- Friday, March 10— Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
The facilitated conversations will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. and will take place in Morrill Hall. Books will be provided in advance of book club conversations free of charge to registered participants. Bring your lunch—beverages and dessert will be provided.
